Reverend Dr Val Ogden
Centenary Church Leader

It's such a joy to be at Centenary, serving with a wonderful team of dedicated people. Ministry over the past 31 years has taken me to Zambia, Wolverhampton, Birmingham, Surrey and the Fiji Islands, but being in Boston is just as fascinating as any of those places. Every day is different here and Lincolnshire's already taught me a lot - not least about where to get the best veg! If we haven't yet met, hope we'll do so soon around town or at Centenary for one of our many services, activities and events.

God Bless you. Val

Janet Horstwood
Pastoral Secretary

I have been worshipping with my family at Centenary Methodist Church for over 20 years.

I am a congregational representative on Church council and sit on the finance committee. I especially enjoy my role as a Pastoral Visitor and have recently been appointed Pastoral Secretary.  I am the Gift Aid Secretary which keeps me busy In April and May. I am an assistant in the Bookroom and am excited that the Bookroom will soon be in the vestibule.

On a Sunday morning I may be spotted doing Door Steward duties. Please say Hello to me if you see me. I love a chat.

Martin Criddle
Assistant Safeguarding Officer

Martin Criddle is Assistant Safeuarding Officer at Centenary and has been active in food provision at the church for over 10 years, currently heading up Community Meals with wife Jo. Martin retired early after 40 years in various parts of the Civil Service. His final post was in an Estates accommodation role. Martin is keen to ensure that volunteers who wish to support the church are recruited openly, fairly and are supported appropriately. He continues, with some success, to actively seek funding and donations to support meals from relevant agencies and organisations.

Audrey Burrell
Church Council Secretary

I came to Boston in the late 50's to work in a local bank. I attended Centenary Church for worship at the same time and helped out in some of the activities taking place at that time, the Sunday school, the Wesley Guild and the choir. I met my husband here and was married in this beautiful church. I have served in several different different roles within the church over the years and enjoyed every part of the church life, which of course changes over time to suit current needs. I have made many lovely friends along the way.

Currently, I am the Church Council Secretary, a Worship Leader, Pastoral Visitor and a volunteer in our Traidcraft shop. It is always a joy to welcome any visitors to Centenary.
